We’d planned to leave, but were swayed into going out to Laguna Apoyo with Will and Monique. Then the group expanded to pick up the Swede group of 5. Astrid (german) Joahan, Fredrich, Mikela and Kina. Euros are often a mixed bag at first. But once you have a drink together everyone warms up. These were all great people.

The lake was great. We went to the “Monkey Hut”, which is owned by the guy that runs the Bearded Monkey. There’s a swimming dock, lodge, bar, kayaks, tubing, etc, etc. Entry is $5, beers are about $1. You can stay there as well.

Stayed there partying on the dock and had a great time. Went back to the town and went to get some food at a Thai place. Saw the guy making cigars. And, of course, wound up back at the Monkey to party some more.

The next morning we went down the square to meet Sarah, who bartends at the Monkey, for coffee. Nice to sit around having some good coffee again. It’s funny how difficult it can be sometimes to find a legitmate cup of coffee!

We’d invited the group from the lake to leave town with us if they liked, and Will, Monique, and the Swede girls packed up to leave town with us.

Should have known then and there that this group was going to slow us down, big time!

It took forever to get out of town, but finally we did,  and with that, we were Costa Rica bound, baby!
